De-mystifying death.  Facing Mortality.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.  ~Max Planck

Chronic Disease Progression &

Decline Towards

A century ago death was typically sudden from infections, accidents, or childbirth.

Today chronic illness is common, as a result of medications, treatments and surgeries now available.

Although most chronic diseases today have a pattern of decline, ending in death, many report feeling caught off-guard when they are told they have a limited time to live.

Part 2 of this 2-Part series will examine Congestive Heart Disease, and COPD's  progression and decline.

Home Funerals

Natural Burials

Thursday, November 20    6:30pm

Kokosing Nature Preserve Reception Center

10620 Quarry Chapel Rd. Gambier

Did you know:

  • that you can stay at home, near your loved ones, after your death, until your burial?

  • that you don't have to be embalmed?

  • that you aren't required to use a funeral home?

Our deceased loved ones used to lay in state in the home after death. It was comforting and intimate. This option is still available today, even though you may not realized or have been told otherwise.

Poetry & Music

with The Death Mavens

Death, loss and grief have been muses for great art as long as humans have been on earth. Come together and bring your favorite poem or piece of music that relates to this topic.

It could be an original work or not. You can read it or sing it or have us listen to your favorite song from your phone.

A few times throughout the event we'll pause and offer simple practices that will help us integrate whatever feelings and sensations are present.
